Privacy Policy

Pokeo ("Pokeo," "we," "us") is a reminder and accountability app. You can set a reminder for yourself, or nudge someone else to remind them — but only if they've agreed to hear from you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We've tried to keep it plain.
Who can use Pokeo
Pokeo is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given information to Pokeo, contact tech@pokeo.online and we'll delete it.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Phone number, used for sign-in with one-time codes and to find people you can nudge
- Profile details, including display name, optional avatar, and an optional email for account recovery
- Reminders and nudges — their text, timing, and status
- Reports you file, including the reason and any details, for abuse review
Contacts (only if you allow it)
Pokeo can match your phone contacts against existing users, but only after you grant permission. We use contacts solely to find matches and to power the "contacts only" privacy setting — we don't sell them or message contacts on your behalf. You can revoke this permission at any time.
Information collected automatically
- Device push tokens, so we can deliver reminders and nudges
- Basic technical data — app version, device type, and timestamps — needed for operation and diagnostics
What we do NOT collect
Pokeo has no photos, voice notes, media uploads, in-app purchases, payment data, or social-media logins. We don't track you across other apps or websites, and we run no third-party advertising.
How we use your information
- Authentication and account security
- Delivering your reminders and nudges
- Enforcing your privacy choices, including blocking
- Reviewing reports and preventing spam and abuse
- Operating, maintaining, and improving the service
How you control who reaches you
You can block anyone, report a nudge or a person for abuse, and limit who can nudge you to your contacts only — so strangers can't reach you.
Who we share with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make Pokeo work: Supabase for our database and hosting, an SMS provider for sign-in codes, and Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, reminders, nudges, and associated data are deleted. We may retain limited records for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your data is restricted by row-level security, so that — in general — only you and the people you interact with can see what's relevant to you. We take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can delete your account directly in the app, or contact tech@pokeo.online to exercise these rights.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Pokeo evolves. We'll update the date above and notify you as appropriate.
